My mother caught one of those scarves, it was yellow satin & had a block style lettering, "Elvis Mania" and his signature was right below that.

Elvis was beyond special. He had the rare allure where people just gravitated towards him and his kind heart would try and oblige as much as possible
And his voice. Incredible. He wasn't going to win an academy award for his acting chops but that's where he hooked up with Ann Margaret. What a bombshell holy moly. Im 49. 50 in Feb and I can remember camping in the summer of 77. I was all off 2.5 but fully recall my Dad sticking his head out the camper announcing the news of his death and my mom just freaking out

WOW. Guess its true! I had to google that - Rhonda Boler Williams, was a five year old little girl when Elvis gave her a Diamond Cross necklace on March 7, 1974 at a concert at the Civic Center in Monroe, Louisiana.

That's just a drop in the ocean of selfless gestures from The KING. ELVIS was good friends with Jackie Wilson and admired him greatly and vice versa. Jackie Suffered a heart attack on stage and was hospitalized. The KING paid Jackie's hospital bills. ELVIS bought random people cars, gave away 10's of thousands in jewelry...maybe in the $100, 000.00's. He bought his workers /friends homes, cars, he donated to countless charities and paid many a hospital bills for ill children and adults (like Jackie) as well. Don't believe the garbage rumors you hear about The KING because I can assure you they are not true. Thanks for respecting The KING, sir. 🫡

He gave away a lot of jewellery to friends and fans with Zero reservations on how they used it.

He even gave some away to people as something for if times get hard.

I can only imagine what that necklace would fetch at auction, especially if the provenance was fully documented.

He was awesome to his fans, friends and family,
That little girl was there with her Mom, her name was/is Rhonda Boiler Williams, and she was just 5 years old.

Another version I heard about this story was that the older fan slapped the little girl to distract her, and so Elvis with his security got down there, he placed the necklace on her and then kissed her cheek that had been slapped that.

Elvis told two of his best guards to stay with them all night wherever they went even to their car and walking into their Home Safe.

I like, in all versions of this story I've heard, I love how Elvis didn't kick the older fan out, he could have, but didn't, and I think that because he wanted that older fan to be miserable and watch with jealously.

In all cases the story is fact it happened, and some mom brought her 5yo daughter to an Elvis concert. Probably not smart by today's standards but what a cool Mom!

Again the version I heard, was Mom and her daughter went to go see Elvis.

You can Google the story, also imagine this, years later preferably before 1977, Rhonda could have gone to Graceland with that necklace and probably would have gotten in to see Elvis. I like to think of "What If" stuff.

Thanks for reading ❤

Many great Elvis stories. One is, after a show while still in stage clothes and on their way to the hotel, they had to stop for a light. Elvis looked over and a gas station attendant was getting harassed. Elvis jumped out of the car and challenged them to a fight. When they saw it was him, they were too star struck to fight. He made them shake hands with the attendant.

In one of the Elvis documentaries he asked one of his close friends in his crew to bring him the jewelry that was in a small safe they had backstage and Elvis started handing out his personal jewelry to the girls up front by the stage. Afterwards his buddy apologized to Elvis for apparently having the safe there. He said he was sorry that he retrieved the safe for him because Elvis ended up giving everything away to the fans. Elvis smiled and said “I wouldn’t worry about it, I’ll sing for an extra 5 minutes tomorrow night to make the money back”😂. You probably know what doc it was. I forget.
