The world needs this. If you're a parent, share these amazing singers with your kids and have conversations.

I found this by googling “what happened to Tracy Chapman, ”. I can’t believe she made this performance wow. I love how’s she pretty reclused and in her own words shy so she refrains from the spotlight. She actually said she never sought out the limelight lol just goes to show when a gift is deep in someone’s soul man is it beautiful. She’s the female Bob marley of our era. Just by way of songs with such heartfelt emotional impact and poetic power to them. I love how she flows with the music so much like it emanates from her

The background musicians seem so proud to be playing with her. What a beautiful voice.

Tracy played this song at the Nelson Mandela Birthday Tribute back in 1988. One woman, one guitar and a whole stadium full of people. What a performance and what a talented lady! ❤

Tracy chapman is a genuine example of pure talent that never went to her head. So very much underrated as a singer / songwriter, don’t make artists like this anymore - she’s exceptional imo

Legendary songwriting aside, it blows my mind that Tracy's vocals in live performances can be studio album quality, every time. Best folk singer of our generation.

I feel my young self taking to the streets like I did in yesterday's gone by. The struggles continue, never ceasing. Revolt/Revolution.

Wow, what a class act. A song that has lasted the years and seems relevant today.

The woman with one of the most soothing voices but loudest lyrics lit us up in the 90s. We’ve missed her.
