Why I Traded My Sigma 16mm F1.4 for A Sony 15mm F1.4 G + a6700

In this one I go to Toronto's Distillery District to try out my newly arrived a6700, with Sony's 15mm F1.4 G. Will the Sigma 16mm F1.4 have to go?

I owned sigma 16mm ever since it came out. Such a great lens. But I also switched over to sony 15mm recently for the same reasons in the video, size and weight. Great video!

d be cool if you could show the wieght diff when talking about both lenses - also is you can give price ranges between the two lenses and maybe.... where you redo buying them used :)

I got the sigma 16mm years ago and was so happy with it that I ended up getting the sigma trio (now 4 lenses with the new 23mm f1.4, love the 23). But since Sony released their apsc lenses I loved the look and size of the 15. At first I did not buy it since I had the Sigma 16. But luckily las week My FX 30 fell from a shelf onto the floor with full cage rig matt box Sigma 16mm and all. Fortunately, the only thing that broke was the Sigma. Literally sheared. Needless to say it was my excuse to get the Sony 15 and I love the size, weight and aperture ring. I have a Tamron 11-20 but am considering the Sony 11 mm 1.8 for the small size to. BTW the small rig cahe really did protect my FX30

I was just using my Sigma 16 today... On my zve1 it's terrific but if I didn't have it, I would probably pick up the 15 (because of the size but thats interesting about the barrel distortion) or 11 f1.8. Great vid as usual!

I have the sony a6700 and have had the sigma 16mm. I now have the Sigma 30mm and the new sigma 10-18mm (f2.8). The sigma 16mm (F1.4) is a fantastic lens, and HALF the price of the sony 15mm lens sigma $399 (even cheaper when you get slightly used or open box) vs Sony 15mm ($760).
