The wild celebration was relief for 1980 and for making up for losing in the LCS in 1976, '77, and '78. It was a wonderful feeling. The Phillies franchise then won the NLCS the next 4 times it appeared in the LCS- '83, '93, 2008, and 2009.

Dallas Green ironically helped carry Maddox during the celebration. Green had platooned Maddox with Del Unser in September and Maddox was unhappy about that. After retirement, they patched things up.

maddox dropped a ball in the 78 NLCS deciding game that gave the dodgers the win. I think thats why they carred him

I believe it was Maddox who got the game winner in top half of the inning. That team was known for defense. They had gold glovers at several positions. Mike Schmidt was the MVP of the league 48HR 121 RBIs
