I took my best friend to see the movie when it came out and she sobbed through the entire second half of the film. She lost it when the King realized his wife and best friend were in love, but he decided he would be a King, by God, he would be civilized after all.

Watching this was a pivotal point in my life at the age of 16. Broke up with boyfriend and traveled thirty five miles in an ice and snow storm at night not knowing what I’d do but wound up at this movie in Enid OK. I was forever changed. What a powerful affect it had on my life.

Julie Andrews and Vanessa Redgrave *both* have very lovely voices. ❤💙💜💖
Just different styles/sorts/types of voices.

Vanessa Redgrave may not have the vocal capabilities of Julie Andrews, but she infinitely boosts the “lust” factor in the song and through the performance…

How fun! Confession - I used to listen to show tunes when I was in High School.

I never really noticed this before, but...she has such pretty teeth. ^___^
Good for her. ^___^
If you're going to show your teeth anyway then they might as well be good ones. ^___^
Right?

it's hard listening to Vanessa Redgrave sing this after being use to Julie Andrews amazing vocals.

Her skirt lifted up and it went almost all the way up to her hips and she hasn't got any petticoats on underneath.
How shocking.
And also, how anachronistic. 😁
