Albert Speer's Inside The Third Reich is a fantastic book; a must read. Although decidedly critical of Hitler, it's still written with such honesty and candor, that the book comes across as comparatively sympathetic to him, if only because he is depicted as a man, and not the devil of the statist atheist religion which dominates cities today.

For this reason, absolutely every westerner owes it to themselves to read this book.

Does he explain why one day, for no reason at all, the nation picked a people group, totally at random, and made them into soap and lampshades?

Norm: “I think we should kill Hitler.”
Adam Eget: “He died 50 years ago.”
Norm: “Did he? I didn't even know he was sick.”.

It is nearly impossible to find literature that is unbiased in describing what the 3rd Reich was like, their policies ect. I haven't read Speer's work in almost a decade, but I should revisit it.

However, I highly recommend "Hitlers Revolution - Ideology, Social Programs & Foreign Affairs" by Richard Tedor. It is short, sweet, and to the point. No BS. No bias. It's a rare gem.

Every time I say i'd like to know Hitler's side of the story, I am treated as a antisemitic. But I do, I want to know the man's reasoning behind his actions, and why he thought it would work.

Speer was an interesting character. Although I think a lot of his criticism were simply to save his own career. There are certain things that simply weren’t (aren’t) allowed to be said that I definitely think he could have said.

Took a while to deprogram what I was taught in school but man, actual history compared to propoganized history is a rollercoaster.

Many years ago my wife met an old lady with whom she had a long conversation. This lady was a friend of Hitler and spent a lot of time in his domestic environment. she told my wife of his shyness, self efacement and desire to be a writer. Apparently he had lovely green eyes! According to her, he was driven to act by the injustices he saw being enacted against Germany from within as well as without, although she felt he was manipulated by influencers. She said it was inexplicable what happened, as she couldn't believe the person she knew was capable of such great crimes. It was strange to hear this as Hitler was the biggest monster in history according to everything I'd learned. My wife being Spanish had grown up under Franco and didn't have strong emotions about WW2, so listened dispassionately. Likewise I'm able to study the Spanish Civil War without the partisanship of a Spaniard.

This channel is a hidden gem...but I would advise you to get in other platforms because usually don't allow so much TRUTH on YT for long.

Did you know Hitler was a very bad man? Well if you didn't, the History Channel has two new programmes to remind you.

As a native german, I wonder how true the traslation to the original. Vice-versa (English to German) is often middling, Tolkiens writings' translations for example are a hotly debated topic, which is why I decided to stick to the original.
Obviously nearly impossible for non-Germans in this case. Just saying.

Anyone that survived and made a living off of publishing books on the topic is suspect. Primary sources and pre-1945 are basically all that are relevant besides a very few secondary sources that were privy to the archive of primary sources.

One of my favorite parts of this book is learning that Hitler's favorite dish is Ravioli.

Speer's original diaries were edited by himself in order to absolve himself of certain bad stuff that went on as well as to throw mud on other characters and therefor seem better by comparison.

He was a great architect, no doubt a genius overall, but he was also an opportunistic and in the end a backstabber.

Reading his diaries you should always keep in mind that certain things you're reading have been edited or taken out altogether.

If you want to get a truly objective view on Hitler, Speer and other Third Reich personalities, go no further than David Irving. He paints the real picture in his book, warts and all.

British historian David Irving discusses how Speer's book was altered, due to having to maintain the historical status quo. If one wants to know the truth about Hitler, and the Third Reich, I'd recommend David Irving's book Hitler's War. I hope that helps!

A fast bomber equipped with a large amount or small bombs striking at airbases and Britain destroying bombers parked outside.
No need to shoot down bombers if they can't even get off the ground.
