it's astounding to me that so many people who cannot write code to save their lives managed to take over big tech the way they did. All the people working at Google now are relying on code from a decade ago because they fired all the competent white dudes (like James Damore) that wrote it. Turns out you have to have some actual coders at your tech company, you can't all be diversity coordinators and equity specialists. Someone has to do some actual work at some point and if you fire all the dudes that do the heavy lifting for social justice reasons, you're going to have a real bad time.

as a software engineer who has worked fully remote for the last 2 years, and had a lot of co-workers leave. it's bloody annoying that they won't say full remote is official, because i can't move away from an expensive area in case next month they make us come into the office ( which multiple times they have, but then cancelled at the first hint of covid).
However i do my 2 weeks work worth of sprints, my manager is actually pretty reasonable.
