Everyone is blaming Dean for everythinng, which is crazy because Rory really ruined him, he wasn’t controling nor jealous at first, but Rory did fall in love with Jess and did drift apart from Dean, and DID cheat on him. Yes, Dean had his own issues, but he had every right to be jealous. And what happened in his marriage did not happen at this time, so you shouldn’t bring it into this first period. Cheating and flirting with others while in a relationship is wrong and ruins the other partner.

In my opinion, Dean did have his flaws but he was a great boyfriend, Rory was a bad person, she knew that Dean didn't like Jess and yet she was his "friend", his anger towards Jess is a normal reaction that any guy would have if he saw his girlfriend be friends with someone who wants to ruin the relationship, if she really loved Dean, she wouldn't talk to Jess

Dean surely wasn't perfect. But the way he treated rory was the best he could do looking at the way he was raised. He fell so hard for her and he was barely experienced as a boyfriend, so, that led him to act a little less patient more protective. But first loves are always special, and it is clear that he has a huge place for rory in his heart...I do not defend him for yelling rory but instead of judging him, try to empathize...How'd feel if you understood that your girlfriend was lying to you, and the worse, about a guy. He handled enough good for a teenage. Cause you're expecting him to behave like an adult (and it's funny how most of you prefer jess over him) I think you should reconsider.
