In this video, we're going to review the new Anbernic RG40XX V. I think it's pretty good, it's just hard to get excited about another h700 device from Anbernic.

5:37 We do need the stick and we need it behaving like a D-pad because this handheld run a lot of arcade games, so an arcade like stick is the best option.

I totally agree with this not being very exciting but more choice is always good for the end consumer. There is something here for everybody. You could have a clamshell, you can have a big vertical, a small vertical, a big horizontal, a small horizontal or even a tiny little horizontal. In the end I think it’s a really good thing.

I had both the 40xx v and the h and returned foe the rgb20sx. Such a great device and the screen is amazing. Great video as always, Joey!

The best part about your reviews is that you have actual standard issue manhands. The handhelds actually look the right size. I swear everyone else who reviews these things has SNL tiny hands.

Having tendinitis in my thumbs, the stick is much appreciated. Even if for everything PS1 and below. I prefer horizontal handhelds but this one just looks/feels better than the 40xxH. One stick does make awkward for ports…

The stick really kills the symmetry for me. I agree it shouldn't exist, just like the plus and the sp. Maybe reserve sticks for horizontal handhelds.

I will say this is an upgrade to the RG351V and I had that same handheld. It had a massive bezel which I hated and kept me from using it alot. I ended up selling it but I look forward to getting this one.

My most important factor for these handhelds is comfort and user experience. So the bigger screen is a major plus for me. Looking forward to reviewing this one myself

i recently bought a miyoo mini + and im in love with the device, its my very first emulation only device but screen felt a little bit small, and seeing the release of this one made me think, is it worth upgrading from my miyoo when it gets a little bit cheaper ??? i really like onion OS but in almost every game i play i say "damm if the screen was a bigger..."

Hey!! Great review, only recently found your channel, and am enjoying and appreciating your videos! May I ask - how are you finding the test muOS build? I have an RG35XXSP and it's incredible with muOS, I don't want to use anything else! I got the RG40XXV too and since muOS isn't out yet for it, I tried Knulli. Knulli looks great, but I'm having issues with battery life, battery indicator, settings not being saved, the clock time zone being messed up etc etc. I cannot wait for muOS and I think I can get the test build by donating to the devs on ko-fi. I've been debating doing that, but since you're using it, I thought I'd ask how stable you're finding it! Thanks again!

I used to be so sure they'd also eventually release an H700 device with the 4" 1:1 screen from the Cube/RGB30. Now I'm not so confident. I wonder what they'd call it. The RG40xx Squared?
