Xal'atath Was A Traitor ETHEREAL Queen?! Her Hidden REAL Origin

--------------------------

So I know as soon as you read this title it sounded like the stupidest thing ever but hear me out for a minute as there is new information from 11.1 that makes this so mindblowing. So spoiler alert but Gallywix is reparing the dark heart and doesn't want to give it to Xal'atath until she completes her end of the bargain but then a mysterious ethereal appears and steals it, at this point it isn't sure if this void ethereal is working for her.

However that opens a whole can of worms. People have connected that Xal'atath has bandages, a belt and a head piece just like the ethereals that she added to this void elf body later. The ethereals are very familiar with Xal'atath suspiciously, we know void alligned ethereals exist and her naming convention even matches that of a Nexus king. We've learned she was on K'aresh in ancient times so what if she is the void equivalent of Archimonde. One of the ethereal leaders that betrayed them, helped the void lords destroy her planet and was therefore she was transformed into a powerful void cosmic entity. I know it sounds crazy but let's cover some actual hints.

I know this will probably not be seen but remember that when Garrosh becomes corrupted in Siege of Orgrimmar (by the heart of Y'Shaarj) and drops Gorehowl that is now corrupted, "Xal'atoh, Desecrated Image of Gorehowl". Both are Weapons infused that are related to the Old Gods (Xal'atath, Blade of the Black Empire) in some way. With this we can make connection to the "Xal'" prefix and we can draw 2 different but not mutually exclusive conclusions. Xal is specifically related to Weapons related to the Old Gods or Void, Xal is specifically referring to things connected to the Black Empire.
Now there is 2 more NPC with "Xal" in their names, specifically Ip'xal "Hero's Outfitter" and Ab'xal "Competitor's Outfitter" in TWW, both of which is specifically armor vendors. IDK if it's suppose to be relevant/intended or not because they use it as a suffix and it's an entirely different species that isn't typically associated with the void (Nerubian). Considering this, it is very possible that Xal, as a prefix or a suffix (changing the meaning depending on if it's a suffix or a prefix), to mean weapon/armor. IDK though this one is a bit of a stretch.

As a side note there also exists mentions of trinkets made from void creatures called "Xalzaix" without an apostrof, take that however you wish.

Xal'atath is the ethereals's Azshara. She meddled into void magic without fully understanding it and brought the void lord Dimensius into K'aresh and got pwned.

When Locus-Walker said something like "So Xal'atath is what she calls herself these days", implying he knows well who she is, I'm thinking.. us finding out her real name will surely piss her off big time

Yeah, that theory checks out. It hadn't occurred to me that this was her origin. She really is just the Silver Surfer, except she became the herald for the sake of power rather than saving her home planet. The way she her character is animated to float around, it kinda looks like the mannerisms of an ethereal too.

She possesses the forms of the beings she plans to annihilate. She even took on her new body specifically to anger Alleria, possibly appearing as a Void Elf to mock her while carrying out her deeds.

I'm going to die on the hill that she is the world soul of k'aresh trying to get her free will from azeroth, who is her sister

This theory is very likely, we don't know that the etherials looked like before the shattering of their world by the void lords, we've been told they had mortal bodies once and didn't look like that before, the tattoos on xalatath's body could be what was on the physical form of etherials before their bodies were changed, and her elf body is just reflecting the spirit inside.

Actually make sense! Even her movemenets/teleportations are similar animations as etherials! :O

I've been screaming this since we saw her updated model in TWW. The mummy wrapping and the belt/head piece gems, along with Locus Walkers familiarity with her pointed to this theory

I haven't even breached Shadowlands yet, but this makes me more curious about Xal'atath.

If Xal ends up being something this mundane it will be the dumbest thing since they invented the jailer ...

If ethereals don't become a playable race with the fading movement included we riot!

The thing about time is that you never know how long “my world was destroyed long ago” means. The voidwalkers could easily predate the old gods

Honestly loving the Xal'atath storyline and theories so far, really excited for 11.2 and Midnight.

Many forget that she was nebulous until in BFA she possessed the corpse of a high elf and then took the form of Xal as we know her

It kind of make sense since she's basically just spirit or energy at this point inside a physical body

That is really compelling, but I thought she was like a fallen Naru

she is kinda obviously a dark naruu locked into a blade /undead elf body. i mean the floating, the Orbs are 1:1 overlayed by Naruu eyes - "you long lost brethren" the NARUU. she KNOWS what happend in the ordering of the Cosmos where the Titans Forger Xera.
