Did you know that Tonga is the only country in the world to be "officially" closed every Sunday? It is actually illegal to work and could be punishable by a large fine or imprisonment.

Find out why in this video, and share it with your friends if you enjoyed :)

I had new years day in Tonga and literally there was no one around because it was a Sunday. Still I spent a month here and after 35 countries I've visited it still remains my favourite. I love the laid back life and I plan on visiting Tonga again.

The same thing happens in many small towns in Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama, but Tonga takes the cake when it comes to closing things on Sunday!

Love it!
More countries should be like this.
Healthy living. Church, food and rest!
One day off a week isn’t much to ask is it?!
Beautiful.

I like how the people of Tonga are proud people. Proud of their heritage. They keep the Tongan language and culture alive.

I'm so glade to see people observe sunday. The value of Sunday and Church is going down in many Countries. However, May God bless the Tongas..

When I was young I was thinking that everywhere in the world rests on Sundays because it's exactly the same as Tongo here in Christian majority state in Mizoram, India

That's fantastic
We used to respect sundays in Italy now no more unluckily ☹️
There should be one day a week that everything stops and families stay together.
Why should mothers go to work on sundays and leave their families?
Once it wasn't like this and people were happier, now it's just a frenetic race.
Full respect to aTonga!!
