Almost 3 years ago I made a video explaining how you could design icons in Adobe Illustrator and how you could morph them in Adobe After effects.

That tutorial can be seen here:

However, a lot of you asked me how to morph icons that have different amount of masks. Since this hard to explain in text, and since there is no clean, official way, I've decided to make another video on this topic.

Instead of keyframing the paths from controller, you could animate the opacity of those paths on. That way, they don't have to pop on and you don't have to move them offscreen. Not sure if that makes sense. Good tutorial, man!

Why did you copy the magnifying glass twice? one in the controller layer and one at the beginning in its own layer?

Hey. thanks for this tutorial.

I'm having issues with pasting into AE from illustrator.

I've followed along here, but when I try to paste into the new shape layer in AE it just pastes a new shape layer with nothing in it. Not sure where I'm going wrong. If anyone has any suggestions that would help that would be great
