ICELAND & IRELAND// Travel Journal

Some friends of mine invited me to share an amazing travel opportunity. The plan was simple. We would spend a 10 days abroad; two nights in downtown Dublin, and the rest exploring as much of Iceland as we could. It was quite an adventure. Dublin was beautiful. The city was a mixture of hipster coffee shops neighboring ancient stone cathedrals and guiding rivers helping us navigate the unorganized street layout. It is a walking city. People can be found outside walking all hours of the day.
Iceland was quite different. There was raw, untouched landscapes everywhere you looked, huge flowing glaciers, and some of the most aesthetically pleasing destinations in the world. Outside of towns and cities, there is just one main road in Iceland: the Ring Road, which lays along the perimeter of the island. The interior of the island is only accessible on small, one-lane unpaved roads. It is known as the land of Ice and Fire.
