How to Tie a Diagonal Lashing Knot

In this video, we show you how to tie the Diagonal Lashing Knot. It looks more intimidating than it is, especially if you already know how to tie a Timber Hitch and a Clove Hitch. I’m showing it with 2 turns around each lashing, but you should ideally use 3-4 turns for a more reliable result. Use it to add cross-braces to lashed wooden structures and to connect any two logs that are crossed at a 45-90-degree angle.

I am always searching for better knots and this one is really nice! Not quite sure aboute the clove hitch at the end. They tend to turn themself backwards and everything gets lose. I have no better idea tough. Maybe left more rope in the begnning to tie the end to?

Better than a clove hitch whenever concerned and applicable might be the similar binding hitch, or also I think called a constrictor knot. Thanks for the great content. Might be good I think to modify these instructions or mention as much being needed when using lashing or even flat strapping material. People lash with all kinds of crazy line.
