I’m a time traveler. I buried these animals with a garden tool. Took a while but it was worth it.

There would be hundreds of thousands of complete T. rex fossils skeletons if they would have been rapidly covered by a world flood. But we only have 30 close to complete skeletons. So there’s wasn’t a rapid covering of all animals that lived. It’s millions of years and only a few fossil happen to make it.

These highly specific conditions are why fossils are so _incredibly rare, _ compared to the total number of animals that ever lived. Religion lacks _any_ comprehension of this whatsoever. Here's an example: 100 billion humans have existed, and humans have only been around a couple hundred thousand years. Stegosaurus was around for about 15 million years (45 times longer), and yet we've only found fossils from around 80 individuals (most not even complete).
I'll comment on my own comment for even further context.

Genesis was early man's attempt to explain his world.

They really love to harp on this. Scientists have been aware of and acknowledged that ideal conditions for a fossil to be formed requires rapid burial, along with extremely fine grained sediment, and an anaerobic, low energy environment. This isnt anything new, at all. To say that they put it scientific journals and drew attention to the fact that it required rapid burial is dishonest. You didnt draw anyones attention to it. They already knew about it.

The reason they do this is because they love to say that since geologists say that sediment depositional rates happen slowly, then that must mean they believe that the sediment thwt covers dead organisms must be deposited slowly as well. Meanwhile, scientists dont believe this. While there are cirtain conditions in which an organism can be buried slowly and still become a fossil, theyre few and far between. But geologists alrleady agree that flood type events causing rapid burial are much more common.

This is the creationists way of pretending like they turning established science on its head. Theyre not. Theyre aiming this at a gullible audience who doesnt have enough scientific knowledge to know what theyre trying to do. And it works. People are like "see?! The scientists have been lying to us this whole time." Meanwhile, youre being lied to about what scientists actually believe and what has already been established. Youre being duped cuz youre not educated on this subject.

But did they find the talking snake from the Bible yet?

"Is Genesis history?"
No. It never was. It was created to be mythology that "explained" things.

This was Rapid burial, as opposed to NORMAL findings where they were not covered quickly thus proving that NOT ALL DINOSAURS were buried in a flood at all.

I wonder what cataclysmic event could have done that, it's a mystery.

Do they also think the Flintstones were real?

A whale got trapped after an inlet dried up and a mudslide covered it. Wow, a miracle 😏

We can see modern examples of animals being buried quickly in a way that would, in millions of years, result in fossils.

Take the whale example. The carcasses of whales and other sea creatures sink to the ocean floor, most of which is covered in a very fine sediment composed not just of minerals, but also of organic matter reduced to fine particulate. This slurry is very easy to sink into and the lower layers are anaerobic which prevents decomposition.

Whales, because of their size, will actually sink more slowly into the ooze. For one thing, their mass would have to displace a larger mount of the sediment and for another, their mass is spread out over a larger area. Think about the difference between walking across wet cement on a pair of skis as opposed to a pair of stiletto heels.

So a whale carcass gets stripped down to the bones by various small scavengers, but they're not big or strong enough to carry the bones off, so the bones just drop onto the sediment and sink. You end up with the same types of fossils this guy saw in Peru.

These whale skeletons weren't like a perfectly-mounted museum specimen. They were just flat piles of bones roughly in their proper place. If a whole whale, flesh and bone, were to get rapidly buried, you would have a casting of a whale with all the bones fossilized in their correct position and articulation, but you don't find them like that.

Like in rhe shore of a lake? Or in a river, during a flash flood? For example

So you all believe science if it fits the interesting 🤔

Well, that is indeed how fossils are made and why complete skeletons are so rare.

The question is: What constitutes rapid burial? Is it 15 minutes? 15 hours? 15 days? 15 weeks? Or is it just enough to keep predators and scavengers from disarticulating the bones that will eventually fossilize? Most fossils are incomplete because something ripped off a chunk of to munch on and took it somewhere where it wouldn't be disturbed while eating it.
