Muhammad is accepted by his own people, Arabs. Jesus is rejected by his own people, Jews. What does that tell you?
By the way, I am an Indonesian muslim and we are not looking for messiah. We are judged by God by faith and deeds, not by crucified corpse. What happened to people who lived before Jesus? Didn't they deserve this late salvation?

Muslims are not looking for the messiah, we already believe that Jesus (peace be upon him and may Allah hasten his return) is the messiah. We just don't believe that Jesus (pbuh) is the son of God. We believe he is the messiah that was promised to the children of Israel but they did not accept him because their scholars(Pharisees and scribes) became corrupt and did not want to give away the power they held over the tribe of Israel at that time. We Muslims also believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ(pbuh), because his mission on earth is not done. His mission was to bring the children of Israel back to God, but they did not accept him, ironically it was the gentiles who accepted him. peace

It is incorrect to say that Jews and Arabs have been at odd with each other for thousands of years

The funny thing is Jews and muslims worship the same god. However Christian’s who believe in the Jewish book(old testament) are believed to be worshiping a different god ( this is what Jewish say). Jews can pray in a mosque but they are not allowed to pray in a church. Jewish don’t believe in Jesus, Muslim believe in Jesus . It all comes to one thing ( Islam is the common religion that brings everything together )

God NEVER appeared to Moses. God sent down God's voice to Moses & Moses knew God's voice CAME FROM SKY!
God made the fire in order to attract Moses to show him the way to the mount of Sinai.

Very interesting debate and I had to admit, as a Muslim, the all the people in the panel are full of knowledge, as they were up with a very basic question, yet they answered it with great patience. My only objection is, and you will agree, that no one can answer this question without any representation of both Jews and Muslim scholars. The answer of the present panel if only one sided but the other two will have a different opinion. But I would appreciate this attempt of conducting such discussion on a issue which can bring these nations closer.

The Old Testament however says God *cannot* be a man. So present-day Christianity is wrong?

1 Chronicles 1: 29
These are their genealogies: The firstborn of Ishmael was Nebajoth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

Ezekiel 27:21
Arabia and all the princes of Kedar, they were your customers for lambs, rams, and goats; for these they were your customers.
in Isaiah 21 god Replace Kedar with Arabs twice.

Isaiah 42:11
Let the wilderness and its cities raise their voices, The settlements which Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing aloud, Let them shout for joy from the tops of the mountains.

The question is, do the Arabs sing in the Qur’an or the Bible, are the Arabs Christians or Muslims?

the debate is not balanced one, one Muslim scholar and one Jew Rabbi must be part of this one sided debate

Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate.
They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided." Say, "Rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists."

The Problem was Abraham's impatience of not allowing God's promise to come into fruition and Sarah not having faith in God's promise of giving her a son.
Sarah is not be blamed, considering her age.

I hate when non Muslims preach wrong things about Islam without understanding Islam.

Muslims have to bless Abraham and his family in every Salah Alhamdulillah.

Genesis 12
1
The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.
2
"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
3
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

The pastor said that jesus came and died for everyone, from what i have heard from the bible. Jesus came only for the jews.

It was Ishmael that was sacrificed. Abraham was somewhat blinded by joy of a son and God had to awaken him by this act.

Genesis 12:3 "I will bless those who bless you" so do Jew or Christians bless Abraham in their practise? How?

The Bible says that Abraham was asked to sacrifice his ONLY son. At no time was Isaac his only son. Now, Jesus never heard the name Jesus all his life. Nowhere in the Bible does he say "I am God" or "Worship me". These Christians are living in la la land. Islam is growing and many people, in particular Christians, are reverting to Islam every day. All this even as the Western media and anti Muslim preachers spew their hatred and nonsense about Muslims and Islam. Jesus never claimed to be a Christian. In fact, he submitted himself to God and that is the definition of a Muslim.
