Stryker Leonidas Technology Demonstrator: New Capability for Layered c-UAS

The Stryker Leonidas technology demonstrator adds counter-electronics capabilities to the Stryker family of vehicles via Epirus’ Leonidas high-power microwave array. Stryker Leonidas’ unlimited magazine depth for counter-electronics missions – counter-UAS among them – adds a key level to layered, mobile short-range air defense (M-SHORAD) for armed forces. Stryker Leonidas features on-board and networked target acquisition and the mobility to accompany all maneuver formations. The system successfully defeated individual targets and swarms of drones during a recent field demonstration.

With how fast pace a Stryker unit must be, this will be well used in the field. If Ukraine has taught us anything, you can guarantee ISR assets are watching any unit at anytime. Shorad isn't enough, but I can see this bridging the gap.

Epirus, the name of the microwave array is also Greek. An ancient Greek Kingdom in the north, the only one that succeded in defeating the Romans (but with a high cost). Leonidas you all know. But as a fun fact the Greek army also has a fighting vehicle with the name "Leonidas".
The Greek Islands really need this!

It's neat, but it has a glaring design mistake: It doesn't make any cool sound while firing.
What's the point of direct energy weapons if they make no sound? At least put on a speaker emitting noise so buyers feel like it's powerful, like vacuum cleaners do!
