The xCloud Console, Lives

Microsoft hasn't pulled the plug on its cloud console...yet.

Makes sense BRAD. This is starting to become very interesting. A cheap little box makes a ton of sense. Who needs LOCKHART when u have the S, the X, ANACONDA, and X-Cloud box. Boy if MS could bundle the X-CLOUD into GAMEPASS ULTIMATE with the other features there for $14.99/month wow.. they would really have a great deal on their hands.
As it stands now Ultimate includes:
GAMEPASS for PC and XBOX with XBOX LIVE. Just throw in X-CLOUD and that shit is set.👍
In the near future I see the XBOX 1 S biting the dust. THE X should be reduced in price and they make that the entry console.

At the moment I’m only interested in Xbox Scarlett.. possibly the PS5 but from what I’m hearing it may only offer software raytracing.

I've been playing with xCloud for about a week. If you have good internet it is absolutely amazing, I've gone to different locations with free internet and I've had very few problems. Once this comes to PC's it will be a game changer since you won't need to spend thousands on a gaming rig you will be able to game on a cheap tablet or laptop everywhere you go.


If this is required to play on a TV I would buy it.

exactly what I've been theorizing too. Scarlett Stream cloud device like Nvidia Shield but to xCloud servers. Next gen gaming, for a low price. Good stuff

They should give it away for free and you pay for the services like the cable companies do with their reciever boxes and cell phone plans. Want to reach "2 billion" gamers THAT'S how you do it.

The only way that this would make sense is if it's something like a Roku box. xCloud works through an app so why would you need a whole console for that? If it was a little app box where you would have other apps like Netflix, Hulu etc along with the xCloud app that would make more sense.

Dont see why they wouldn't. Just like I've heard before, MS isnt competing with Sony. They're competing with Google

I was confused when Phil Spencer said at E3 that you can use any Xbox One as a dedicated xcloud server. So what would be the point in releasing a next gen xcloud console?

I'm interested to see if this works well. I have fast internet and still need to use Ethernet cable to stream uncharted with exceptable latency

Why would you buy Lockhart when you could buy the cloud console?

One's a dedicated machine that can play discs, the other is a cloud-only system that's quite low-powered. Pretty different right? Unless I got some Lockhart details wrong?

I think you are describing a tech called kahawai. MS bought it.

Delta mode :
Client outputs low detail graphic at high framerate.
Server outputs both high and low detail graphic at high framerate.
And server pushes "high - low" graphic at high framerate to clients.

i-frame mode :
Client outputs high detail graphic at low framerate.
Server outputs high detail graphic at high framerate.
And server pushes those high detail graphics at high framerate to clients.

Don't think Google has anything similar.
