Great review, Felicia. Kathryn Bigelow's success should have started with this film. It was very well done. More people should have supported it. But then again, it was overshadowed by The Lost Boys. It's still a fantastic film at the end of the day.

This is one of my favorite movies. And the soundtrack by Tangerine Dream is awesome!

I'm enjoying your stuff, it's cool that you covered this film as it's been bugging me for ages as I knew it wasn't Lost Boys but could not remember it to save my life :) If you haven't got round to it, I'd recommend checking out "Dog Soldiers". It's a British horror comedy about squaddies (soldiers) and werewolves.

Not only that, but Lost Boys also had The 2 Coreys, which at the time, I believe was the It Thing. Anyways, agreed, Near Dark is kinda a hidden gem from that era that seems like has started getting the following it deserves over time.

I love this movie. Though I had been aware of it for many years before, I first watched it in 2017 while struggling to write a script for the movie I was working on at the time. Watching the movie definitely helped get me through my slump, especially because of the visuals, soundtrack and overall grit.

Near Dark was amazing!!! One of my favorites. I watched the Documentary and made me appreciate the movie more. Wish they would've done the prequel they wanted to do.

Ironically I know Katherine Bigellow from her other cult classic film, Point Break. Excellent film!! Love Point Break. Haven’t yet seen Near Dark though.

I liked this one I reviewed it back in October as part of my 31 days and I got a little people interested in either seeing it for the first time or revisiting it it has gained a cult Following over the years I do feel that this is a underappreciated vampire film.

Loved the movie. My only complaint was the ending. I felt it didnt fit the rest of the tone of the film

The biggest gripe I had with this movie was how Caleb and Mae were cured of being Vampires by a simple transfusion, it just made no sense. I personally think that the best way they could have gone about it was, Jesse Tucker was the head of their Vampire bloodline and when he was killed, all Vampires in his bloodline were free of the curse. It might not have been a perfect ending, but it would have made WAY more sense than being cured by blood transfusions.
