According to wikipedia, the first Wii U Nintendo Select came out in March of 2016, 3.5 years after the system release. And Wii had its first Nintendo Select come out in May of 2011, 3.5 years after the release. So it would stand to reason that we'll see Nintendo Select copies either by the end of the year or next year I'd wager. The Wii U ports won't go Nintendo Selects until another couple years unfortunately. But we'll see! They could just ditch it all together, but Nintendo has had the reputation of being the value console.

A subject near and dear to my heart. I'd have spent $30 on selects now if they want more than $20, but all this cart forwarding with a coat of paint is fine but not at full price. $40 sure.

Nah, I think we will see a selects in the next year or so or maybe even this holiday to combat the new other systems

Here's the thing. Nintendo has been such a recognizable brand for so long, they don't have to give a discount to any of their properties. I think the Wii U really changed the way that Nintendo sell their products. I would think that since sales have not stopped with the Switch there is no reason to discount anything.

Also I disagree with you as far as Nintendo liking digital sales. If that was the case Nintendo's online playability would be much better. There such an old school company that "online" seems like a waste of time to them. And their "sales" on their properties never go anywhere below 40 dollars at best.

I would always try to buy the player's choice/Nintendo Selects whenever I could. I really want it to happen for the Switch but I know that it will never happen.
