Bird Migration with Tyler Christensen

Neotropical migrants – birds that breed in North America and winter in the New World tropics – face a challenging existence, and many species are disappearing from the landscape. These fascinating species depend on the natural resources where they breed, where they overwinter, and in many places in between, making migratory bird research and conservation particularly challenging. Tyler Christensen will discuss the remarkable phenomenon of bird migration, his firsthand experiences studying neotropical migrants in the mangrove forests of Costa Rica and in the Sourlands of New Jersey, and some of the threats faced by migratory birds across their vast ranges.
