LOVE seeing my Texas Stars get the chance to play in the NHL. We were so sad the AHL season got cancelled, but seeing our guys out there helps! Many, many of the regular guys came up through the system, so we've been watching them for years. Guri, Benn, Seguin, Heiski, Hince, Oettinger....so many!!

I do feel bad for Whitecloud. He played well, and you never want to end a series like that.

From Jordan to Dallas "my true story with the Stars "

I was 19 years old when I moved to Montreal Canada form Jordan in May of 1998. I did not speak much English, but I passed the required Academic level of the TOEFL test to get accepted at McGill university.

Growing up in Jordan, soccer/ football was my life .I played semi professional football in the junior leagues for many years, I was a football addict, i followed the top European leagues just like any kid would do. I also enjoyed watching tennis, NBA and alot of F1 racing. We didn't get much coverage of the NHL, the only ice hockey we watched was on European satellite Channels of international hockey tournaments and the Olympics. In fact when I came to Canada I didn't know anything about the NHL or whether the rules of the game were different than the rules in IHL or the Olympics.

I quickly learned the I was living in the mecca of hockey, every where you go in the city of Montreal you are immediately reminded of the history of the prestigious Montreal Canadiens hockey club. A quick visit to the old Forum was helpful to briefly learn about the Habs, the icons, their legacy and of course. The 24 tiles.

I had a very small 20 inch tv(tube) in my apartment.I didn't have cable, so the only Channels I had were the local ones you get with the Antenna ..oh yes the gold old Antenna. 😊. One of the these channels was CBC, and every Canadian knows what's on CBC during the summer, hockey playoffs.

And this is where it all began, summer of 1998, hockey playoffs on my small tube. Western Conference playoff 2nd round, Edmonton Oilers vs the Dallas Stars.
I saw that jersey, I noticed that number 9 player so called Mike Modano and I fell in love with that team. Unfortunately they lost to the eventual cup winners the Detroit Red Wings in the conference finals, but the next year, we won the cup with that famous controversial - foot in the crease - goal in triple overtime vs the Sabres in game 6.
Sadly, .the next year we lost the cup to NJ devils, Jason Arnott's ot winner still kills me when I see the replays.

Oh well that's my story, a guy from Jordan who fell in love with the Stars while living in Montreal Canada. Go figure.

Seeing Tyler Seguin blocking shots on penalty-killing duty should tell you something about this teams willingness to do "whatever it takes"; and the confident, at times even "cocky" play of Khudibin - can't help rooting for this guy.
