Ollie Hassell-Collins scored almost in isolation and it was 29-20 deep into the final quarter. And Saracens reacted to the Irish reaction. They started taking their pack to the cleaners late on. Lozowski kicked a penalty to bring Saracens within a score. The drama piled on drama. Alex Lewington made a heroic run down the left wing. He was smashed in a tackle by Coleman. Both players were treated with the conversion making it 19-10. It was now that Saracens became themselves. Rotimi Segun scored a brilliant try after Billy Vunipola had made initial territory and Nick Tompkins and Ben Earl had taken the ball on quite beautifully. With Alex Lozowski kicking the conversion skilful play and power to appeal to all kinds of rugby fans and even outsiders who wandered into the stadium to see what all the noise was about. London Irish won the match when Saracens were penalised in the final series of rucks after the away team had taken the lead in the most dramatic fashion. The referee blew a long blast on the whistle and Paddy Jackson came up to kick a nerve-less penalty kick to win it. And they deserved it — just. They lacked authority at half back Tompkins scored the try and Lozowski kicked a brilliant conversion under pressure from wide out and it was a long time before Coleman got back to his feet – to find that he had been sent off for a high tackle. Saracens had earned their one more chance. They put in a ferocious drive from the next lineout Irish stretched away from them at the start of the second half when Adam Coleman charged down a poor box-kick and scored paid Billy and Mako a fulsome tribute for their contributions on and off the field in the past weeks. But not even the brothers could break the hearts of the Irish. They had a wonderful gift of bouncing back just when you thought that they were being overhauled. Jackson and Curtis Rona in midfield conspired splendidly and Nick Phipps and his back row were highly influential. Some day soon on the back of a string of excellent performances that show they are putting down roots in Brentford. Irish had come out with dynamism. They launched two beautifully sustained series of attacks and at the end of each of them a long pass from Curtis Rona made a try for Benhard Janse van Rensburg. It was at this stage that Saracens were scruffy and although they went thundering over for a driving maul try touched down by Tom Woolstencroft
