Fernando Perez explains one of the most important and well known Jins used for Arabic music, Jins Hijaz.
The colours of Hijaz have been used in Flamenco as well as many other music styles. Here is how to play and recognise it. Learning how to transpose it to different roots and adding ornaments key to sounding like authentic Arabic music played on guitar.

beautiful. good stuff as usual. i have not touched the guitar in a few days since i put on that first DIY fretlet . LOTS of studying on the topic. i have bought the gut strings for frets, but the problem is i have this cheap (150$) chinese made (pearl river) classical guitar that i bought 20 years ago and i assume the fretboard and fret positions is not that accurate . so now im gonna calculate all the correct positions, maybe even re gauge the strings action since im gonna be working on intonation.then i have to locate a bunch of korons and flats etc....only then begins the headchace of which ones to use and which ones not to, should i go a quarter tone guitar or should i just add a few fretlets ? should i remove the original frets or not...Thank you sir for inspiration.
