How to Offset Sketch Geometry in Fusion 360

Показать описание
How to Use the Offset Command in Fusion 360. The offset command can be activated from the sketch dropdown list... from the right-click sketch menu… by right-clicking to activate the marking menu, selecting sketch, and then the offset option located in the lower-left or with the keyboard shortcut letter “O,” as in Oscar.

The offset command lets you copy the selected sketch geometry a specified distance away from the original geometry.

Very well done. You didn't assume that your viewers already understood all of the features involved, and you laid it out step by step. Thank you.

I love your one type of command at a time video, I can refamiliarize myself with a command without having to watch an hour video and hope they mention the command I am looking for.

Great video, thank you! If you really need to offset from geometry that itself has already been offset, then a work-around is to create an intermediate constraint relationship - e.g. project the first offset onto a new sketch then offset from that. This should maintain the parametric relationships.

Thank you for another very detailed and informative video.

The direction that the offset goes by default is slightly complicated. Draw a line, the first point you click is point one, the second one you click is point 2. If you sat your head at point 1 and looked at point 2 the default direction of the offset is to the right.
The direction of the rectangle tools depends on what corners you click. from the perspective of the first clicked point,
Up Right : outward, Up Left : Inward, Down Left : Outward, Down Right : Inward.

Hi. Great videos. Really helpful, thank you. I have an svg sketch with many different parts. I'm trying to offset around the whole sketch, but it's only letting me do one part at a time, which never comes out right. Is there a way of doing it in one? Do I have to create a separate sketch around the outside, so trace the outline somehow? Is there an easy way of doing that?

Great video, is there a way to erase or "not keep" the sketch object being offset? I realize this would no
longer be an offset by definition but I find myself needing to do this regardless.

I was wondering if you could do a video on the move tool particularly addressing the re-acher and the measure features? Thank you

Thank you for the great tutorial! Offset on the face of the shaft no longer supported in Fusion 360, I can select shaft geometry as you show and set offset to it. How can this be done now?

Very nice mate! Your style is easy to follow :)

I have imported a node mcu model from grab cad into fusion 360. I create new sketch and project the outer part of the node then offset and the center is the shape of the node. I need it full because I am trying to make a case for the node mcu. But IDK it is frustrating.

You’re teaching style is super. My issue is my version of fusion 360 is different than yours so I can’t find the tools in the same place

Nice Video as always :) I would appreciate it if you could make a video about the "Hole Command". Is it possible to create a tapered hole where you define the length, top and bottom radius of it? I want to create standard ground joint with it.

We will be using Fusion 360 to convert all of our wooden canoe parts to a digital environment (from hand drawn plans) and manufacturing them on an Onsrud flatbed CNC milling/routing machine.

Flip... This is driving me crazy. Your flip behaves like i think the function should, ie flip and the value is positive but in the other direction, my program i hit flip it say _ value... so when i have to type in a value i have to add - each time, and no matter wtf i do. my initial selection is always in the wrong direction so i have to always put in - first. yet yours argh.

I'm doing the titan cnc academy courses and I've done them all once now I am trying to do them without the video and I am having issues. *Offset a 3D Mesh*
I have a 3D Scan.
I'm attempting to make a mold around the 3D Scan, with a Mold offset of 1inch from the 3D Scan's body.

How?
