Dropping the weight is like doing half the work, that's how I see it.

This was key for my arms to finally start getting bigger. 17 inch arms and still growing.

If you control the weights, you use the muscles, if you let go, you don't use them anymore.

I learnt this a few months ago and my reps dropped by about 1/4😱 this is definitely good advice and you can feel more of a burn after

Exactly what my coach has been having me do, and there's a huge difference in the quality of the reps.

My muscle usually start shivering if i increase the time under tension. But i think it's just that I'm too weak right. It has improved a lot. I was skinny fat

Very good tip and one that I follow. Less reps/more gains

This tip has improved my bicep size fairly quickly and I am much stronger now too. I am able to curl more weight for less reps. 10/10

Not controlling the eccentric is also great for developing tendonitis

For some reason, I especially feel the grind on the eccentric part of a bicep curl. I fucking hate them cuz they're so awesome and I do them all the time😅

Anyone else feel robbed that they didn’t get a dad joke from dr Mike

Phil Heath would be the perfect example, he contracts his way down even when he does it fast

Is this from the jiu jitsu biceps dvd?

They're slandering Dr. Mike's name on some other channels, saying too strict. Here, Dr. Mike is saying the decentric portion does not have to be 3-5s long

the dude has perfect shoulder position for curling

Weird theory i just had ..
My bias, im big & *Coming from an oly lifter background where the concentric is what matters the most *

What if in order to achieve maximal amount of concentric time undertension one would barely hold eccentricly BUT at the end of the set exhaust everything thats left on the concentric portion by holding the last rep eccentric extra long

; Higher strenght/power development
& still reach eccentric failure

This is most of the concept behind Arnold’s Cheat curl, which he credited with the sheer size of his biceps in his prime.
