Popeye’s inability to read the Japanese character for “death”, right before his body is turned to paste is possibly the best joke in Death Battle history.

Popeye: Could punch the earth and turn it into a 3 course meal of shrimp, chicken, and spinach.

This was absolutely a win for both parties. Popeye avenged the honor of his spinach, and Saitama _finally_ got to have a good fight.

As a child I didn't realize how OP Popeye is. Hearing his powers was both fascinating and funny

One thing to mention about Popeye: He can't die. In an early adventure he revealed that he recovered from injuries by rubbing the head of a Magic Whiffle Hen. When he rubbed the Hen's head, he would instantly heal from any injury no matter how severe. Eventually, he rubbed the Hen's head so much that he absorbed its magic into his body. From that point on he would instantly heal from any injury no matter how severe without the need to rub the Hen's head. BTW: This had nothing to do with Spinach.

This is literally the same feeling boros had. Boros finally found someone who's stronger than him and actually put up a good fight. He had the same dilemma that Saitama has.

Everyone assumed Saitama would win if he was ever in Death Battle so they found someone who could beat him. I love it.
