2016 Scion IM Review

My thoughts on the 2016 Scion IM with the 1.8L inline four engine and 6 speed manual transmission!

I go to Orlando every year, my family rented a 2016 Scion iM in 2019, this exact color, I thought it was strange because scion had been defunct for around 3 years at that point. I liked it, the radio was very quiet, though, and you had to turn the radio up to highest volume to hear it well in the back. I have strange story about this specific rental. This was first day, room was not ready yet, so we drove to Pollo Tropical ( Floridian restaurant chain ). We were on the highway, getting past the Disney entrance, we were just riding on exit bend around one of those retention ponds, and this guy, was in a first gen white Highlander, he thought we were trying to block him, we were not, so he sticks his head out of car and is trying to ram us off of road, my father tries to get out of car, he says to the guy: “GET OUT OF THE CAR!” We eventually get around him, and then his wife tries filming us like they were the victims, we were not able to get his plate because we were in the moment, but we report him to sheriff, don’t know what happened to the idiot.

Ive been eyeing up the IM lately. What a sleek car, but your right it doesnt have the punch to backup how sporty it looks.

There's no "base model" with the Scion iM. You just pick your colour, and manual or auto and that's it. So all iMs come like the one in the video except for the colour options and transmission choice.

Toyota actually rebranded the IM as a Corolla IM until 2018

I got a question i have a 2017 toyota IM same car, 1:18 you said it takes barely any gas to get it moving.
-I have to dump the clutch and rev and fall onto it blindly because of its numb engagement.
i'm looking for ideas whats wrong with it- it has 22, 000 miles it does fart burnt clutch smell once every 2 months or so, its engagement is high kinda hard like a chevy s10 but it doesn't slip in gear or grind.

I get 40 mpg, put a catback exhaust and intake. And boom it’s fun fast and good economy, you buy this car for reliability not performance

They could of been cool, but they started under the impression that young people wanted to drive ugly Hot Wheels-esque cars.
