Single Phase Direct Online Starter DOL Wiring Diagram Connections Explained - AM2, AM2S, AM2E

Electricians Matt and Joe look at the wiring and connection in a single phase direct online started (DOL). In this video we explains how to connect the supply and the out going load (motor) within in a DOL starter. Matt also explains the wiring for the overload plus the connection for the internal stop and start buttons. This wiring diagram will help with level 3 electrical courses for both electrical apprentices, part time, full time learners as well as AM2, AM2S and AM2E.

Am 72 an still learning. Did this work at 20 but was never taught as clear as this. Amazing what proper tutors can make such a difference to young persons careers. 13 & 14 is called a _latching_ contact. It _latches_ in the coil, which when broken (by the stop button) stays de-energized. The analogy is a door latch. It is for_control_ purpose only, rather than the other contacts which carry current.
