In Mexican Spanish, geoduck is called "almeja generosa" and "almeja chiluda" which translates into "generous clam" and "big dicked clam". It is often sold canned and pre-sliced in brine or oil.

I've been digging these things for four decades now. The largest ones I have dug on land were about 7-8 lbs, (~3.5 Kg), but I have seen siphons on some while scuba diving that dwarfed anything I have seen on land. Some were as big around as my wrist wrapped in 7mm of neoprene and I'm a 220 lb guy.

A typical duck is much smaller, maybe 2-4 lbs, but the commercially harvested ones you see here are significantly smaller than that. That's just a matter of growing them commercially in as short a time as possible for maximum return. Still tho

Still, I've never heard anyone say the quality is any different. Commercial harvested or not they are the same clams.

The reason why the narrator said it looked like elephant's nose is the original video was dubbed in Korean. In Korean, Geoduck is called "elephant shell (코끼리조개)". So, people for the original video would be curious why it was named so, and this is the reason why this video says about it. Of course, many people there also said about their bizarre shape looking like our *that* part. lol
