CORRECTION: It does not support the DJI Ronin RS3. Only the RS3 Pro.

With 7kg plus gimbal support this sounds like a decent upgrade. I have the first gen nano and it’s been great for interview setups as the second angle. Biggest issue was using heavier lenses and watching it struggle at certain angles. Looking forward to checking it out!

Very cool, I’m looking forward to trying this version out! I’ve owned the gen 1 for 4 years. It has been good, but sometimes it takes a while to work out the micro jitters via calibration. I hope this has been taken care of in this gen 2 version. Especially with this big “tall” payload mounted to it.

Its DOES NOT work with RS3 (non Pro) 2:09

The real linkage between Gimbal and slider is very exciting, especially with the DJI series gimbal

I have a Shark Slider Nano 1 and it’s been great for interviews as the second angle. Biggest issue was the lower payload with my heavier lenses, but now with 7kg + gimbal support- this looks even better!

This is really good. Still waiting for an additional arm for up and down movement then it would be like a real cinebot

Is it possible to use it at a 45° or 90° angle and upside down as well?

Interesting, but very short. If I want a frame accurate repeatable moves but three-four times more travel than this allows – what's the cheapest way to get that?

The only question left is: will the DJI focus unit be focusing manual lenses like this? Also, does it have a timelapse mode?

I would take the vertical payload with a grain of salt after owning the gen 1. Also with the gen 1 they never resolved the issue with micro jitters, which I found more noticeable when you added a pan to your shot. Also this gen 2 looks like it doesn't have a diff travel length when mounted on a tripod like gen 1.
I think that was a good idea partnering with DJI, it makes a lot of sense. They don't have to make their own pan/tilt head, and people might consider buying a gimbal to use with this if they don't already own one.

Payload of 7kg ≈ 15.4 pounds
Vertical payload 3.5kg ≈ 7.7 pounds

4:12 he mentions it. So double the original but you do have to account for the gimbal head I suppose

Very interesting for multi cam setups imo. Afaik the ronin gimbals can use the tracking data of some cameras like lumix. I try to avoid "smartphone as accessories". Would love to see tracking work without a "dongle"

Hmmm. It's impressive that it will communicate with the DJI gimbals, but the two version travel ranges are only 7.87 inches and 15.75 inches. The short version seems too short for anything but very close product videos, while the longer version seems like a bare minimum. I would prefer at least 24-36 inches movement for interviews or narrative work. I tried to use the Edelkrone for VFX compositing work, but found it could not consistently hit the A and B points.

so the longer one, indicating 40cm of travel, is this decreased if *not used on tripod?

having Ronin integration, do you guys know how the slider will react for time lapses? curious if it will fully communicate and 'stop' to take photo, of if this would be one continuous motion and disregard any shutter speed settings.

Why does the discount code only work in the US
