I want to add an interesting fact about this interaction: if you accept his proposition he will pay you the caps up-front. Even if you kill him directly afterwards, the people of far harbor still talk about missing persons and it counts as if you made the choice to let him eat people in that part where the people of far harbor judge you. Almost as if his cannibal ghost sticks around to eat people 😅

There is a glitch: You can only meet Malcolm if you're doing the quest for the settlement. If you clear it out before the quest, Malcolm won't appear.
