I like that Mr. Fox doesn’t take offence or even deny his wife being a promiscuous woman before they met.

Insults like calling a man’s wife a hoe or a slut are meant to offend the man by implying he doesn’t have full control of “his” woman’s sex life, but Mr.Fox is mature enough to grasp that thinking of your spouse as something to own is a bad idea and that it’s just she enjoyed doing before she started looking for a serious relationship.
