The in-person box office is really a dead mechanism to purchase tickets. Its the 21st century, nothing is done face-to-face anymore, and if it is, its always the slower option.

While I agree, you COULD just buy them online like most people, it's really a much better option than wasting your time waiting... you could have even bought them on your smart phone right there then got in the will call line... The box office is such a waste, we waited 10 hours this year for the onsale date of single tickets, and by the time the box office opened, the line was so slow that we bought them on a smartphone in line, got everything we wanted

To whoever is reading this:

TIFF is treating it's paying customers (the people that buy tickets during the festival) like shit. I stood in the box office line today for over 2 hours to find only TWO people were handling sales while the other 6 - 7 people will doing will call. WTF? After 2 1/2 hours waiting and getting to a sales associate, I found that tickets for THREE DIFFERENT FILMS I WANTED TO SEE WERE OFF SALE! I WASTED TWO HOURS FOR NOTHING??

TIFF - FIX YOUR GODDAMN BOX OFFICE!!

A scoop for you - I don't have either a smartphone nor do I have a credit card. I have no use for either unless cash isn't any good anymore - sorry but the argument holds no water and not everyone likes to waste even more money on transaction fees...

Well unfortunately they aren't going to change the box office system for the less than 1% of the population who still ride a horse and buggy to work.
