Tulsa Oklahoma is an open/carry state without a permit, as long as you have a legitimate purpose and aren't breaking any laws. So a guy walking around with a gun is just another day and nobody says anything until you start killing people. This is a stupid problem to have this will not stop until people understand that guns have 1 purpose.

The clue is in the name 'assault'. Why should any civilian be able to own these?

the Remington .223 round was developed as a small game round, Eugene Stoner developed the AR-15 as a Law-enforcement and Domestic Military Guard Carbine (Primarily for the Air Force), he showed it off to some generals and congress men by shooting up some watermelons and they loved it, it ended up in Nam in the hands of Spech Ops as the AR-15 and CAR-15 feedback had them up power the round to what would become 5.56NATO and it got Full Auto becoming the M-16, and that's a whole other story.

But in the US you can walk out of a walmart same day with a gun originally developed for Police Tactical & Military Base Guards and go Hog Wild on the General Public because a modern interpenetration of an old law lets you think your "Freedom" is more important than anyone else's.

Read the 2nd Amendment it is a Civil Defense Law not about Individual Gun Rights.

As a person that doesn't really know much about guns, I can at least argue that between a person who has a gun with 5 rounds vs a guy with a gun with 500 rounds, I'd rather face the guy with 5 rounds than the guy with 500 rounds cuz I can at least find a way to get away while he's reloading...😑

Everyone is a civilian with the exception of military people. Law enforcement are civilians.

I second the motion to protest gun stores.

It's crazy that just going about your daily life in the USA that something like this can happen at ANY MOMENT.
Kind of scary as shit and thankfully something I never really need to worry about in Australia; someone could still knife me however, but I'd rather deal with some crazy person with a knife then a semi/automatic gun!

This and Buffalo - and the countless others - makes you wonder: What's "hardening schools" supposed to do, when nowhere else is safe, either? Just have cops and armed guards _everywhere_ I guess? Turn every public building into a prison, not just schools? You do realize these aren't actually solutions, right? Just admit it: You, as a society, are willing to sacrifice these lives and won't do anything about it.

I don't have a problem with the gun myself. I am also in favor of a lot of questions when you want one of these guns. They are a military weapon and should be recognized as that type of weapon. Also i don't have a problem with someone owning this type of weapon as long as they prove they are a responsible adult. Gun course, license, registration, insurance. Then i am ok with it. We have responsible people in this country that have better weapons than an AR15.

just so you know a 9mm is just as dangerous as a .223 up close. and if you think a .223 is bad, wooo boy.
