I've not heard of anyone buying BFA solely for Classic WoW. Doesn't make sense to me personally considering if that's the only version you plan on playing, why not wait until you know for sure? Only thing i've heard is that Classic would probably require an active subscription which I see as a definite probability.

Classic hype IS REAL and I can't wait for it.. BUT, to say that's the sole reason BFA has sold so well despite all of the hype from cinematics, features, themes, allied races etc etc .. is just a tad much. Legion was a GOOD expansion and BFA seems to be an AMAZING expansion. I didn't think i'd be touching the current WoW but i'm thoroughly loving it. I'll definitely be playing both although Classic will probably hook me in much deeper. Regardless, WoW's future looks good.

Dude that's more than a stretch to say that classic is why BfA sold so well... In reality it's the millions of dollars they invested into advertisements on every major platform. Less than 1% of BfA sales were influenced by anything classic related.

It is very hard to compare BFA and Classic. I am not sure that presales for the book are because of Classic hype or BFA, but no one can deny, this is a good thing for both markets. Any Warcraft hype will bolster sales and publicity for both. It is no mystery that both games are for two different audiences. But this book bridges that gap, and intrigues both audiences equally. The vast success of the book's first day funding proves there is Warcraft-hype. But be that for BFA or Classic is unknown as of yet.

First day sales of BFA included all of the preorder sales. Blizzard required you to preorder if you wanted access to the Allied Races. So this number is a little inflated.

im not a tech expert but doesent the fakt that the Blizzard Servers now are capaple of handling many thousends of players? So my guess would be that they use a physicle server to host multiple wow servers on a software basis. And that would mean that they are very flexible in adjusting the nummber of servers or merge or split software servers on a physicle server as they need??

When it comes to the number of servers, would be funny if Blizzard releases an X number of servers that are not enough when it launches, thus getting an actual authentic Vanilla release.

Nowadays you can have lots of spare capacity. Turning on Servers as they become neccessary will be the deal.
