Do San Tul Applied

This is a performance of the 3rd pattern in the ITF cannon called Do San. It is performed against an actual opponent who flickers into the video at the moment of impact to illustrate how the given techniques where meant to be applied. All applications are taken directly from Gen. Choi Hong Hi's encyclopedia of Taekwon-Do

I see the straight fingertip thrust application as seen in the encyclopedia but is it entirely realistic to suggest that you're going to be able to strike a violent attacker's solar plexus with your fingers? I've always thought that application was very iffy.

Thanks to your video, I love more the ITF-Taekwon-Do.

Could you do more patterns in this way if possible? It's a really interesting take on the application.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but I was taught that at around 0:20, the first "finger-jab" (I don't know the name in english) is grabbed by the enemy so the second movement (switch to annun-sogui) is to loose the grab and hit the solar plexus.

How to apply do San tul on actual combat

The two punches that come after the wedging block should be done in fast motion. You perform them in normal motion. Also the name is straight fingertip thrust, not spear finger thrust. Otherwise I like the video
