Ariston RD-11S with Grace G-704 Tonearm Demo

Back in the 70's/80's I could name almost every piece of HI-FI kit on the market in England now I can barely remember my own, But I do remember this as a very good turntable at not a bad price, paired with a decent budget amp and speakers You had a good starter system for under £1000 which was still a lot then really.
Most went for a Dual cs504 turntable with NAD3020 amp and some speakers, Maybe Wharfedale, celestion, mission or Boston. again, not bad, I wish I had kept mine

I have the Thorens TD150 which I am happy with.
I do like the look of the Ariston RD-11S.
There's one here in the UK for £220 no tonearm.
I think this maybe worth getting.

, I have Had My Ariston RD 80 Since 1981.. It Came With The Linn LVV Tone Arm, It is Rock Solid, And Apart From The odd Drop of Oil It has never needed Any attention... In The UK it was called the Poor Mans Linn...Easy To See Why Linn Sued Them...A Gem of a Turntable.

This is the turntable Ariston built after losing a law with from Linn products. They could no longer manufacture the RD11 as Linn (Ivor T) claimed the rights to that design (he used to work for Ariston). So Ariston was forced to make a few small changes and came up with the RD11S. In concept execution and performance the RD11S is very much like the RD11 (and it's Linn Sondek clone).

Nice video, thanks! Subscribed. I own one of these (rare in California). I need to replace the bulb in the on/off switch some time, but I'm happy with the deck, paired with a Rega RB300.

The platter is really high. Looks like the springs are squashed down too tight. I bet you wouldn't be able to use the 45rpm pulley without the belt falling off from misalignment. At least that's what I found with mine before I dialed in the suspension.

this will beat most modern popular turntables costing several hundred pounds out of the park hands down - get real record buyers, they dont make them like this anymore without costing many thousands!
