@Rodjew You can on some vehicles. I'm not sure on this particular one. You might need to ask the dealer if it's possible.

@DrBygstan I believe that one was already broken but yes you need to be as careful as possible not to break them. If you break 1 or 2 your panel will still go back together.

I had to park on the street on a snowy night and forgot to close my driver side mirror. well it was chipped up pretty badly by a snow plow. I'm so glad it wasnt worse. this video has given meconfidence to tackle this task on my own. I have a 2009 and will do more research on the differences of the 08 and 09. Thank you so much!

@The1JollyRoger You don't have to. However when ever you work on anything electrical on a vehicle it wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for this! Same thing here. On the rubber grommet - I just cut the tubing off of it, then cut out the center of the nipple where I could still use it and fit the plug through it, worked just fine. One other thing to mention - get some extra yellow door panel clips in advance. I broke one pulling the door off...you may have to pry some out of the door too. Also, you don't need to disconnect the door latch and window rods, extra un-necessary step.

Thank you for this great video. I was able to replace the mirror myself. The only problem was getting the door panel back on. After comparing it to the passenger side door, I figured it out. My husband is in for a surprise!

You do not need to take the door totally off to change the side mirror.
The rods and power harness need not be disconnected.
All you need is access to the bolts to take off the mirror.
