Cisco CUBE Microsoft Teams Direct Routing Overview

In this video I take a look at the reasons you might use Cisco CUBE for direct routing to a Microsoft Teams Cloud Phone system environment. I cover the supported hardware, minimum software version of IOS-XE as well as what licensing is needed. I also offer resources and other configuration documentation to help you when you go to configure this in your environment with your PSTN provider.

Considering Teams direct routing? Let me know!!

I've just completed a similar setup. I used the same document as a reference but I made some changes based on my needs. I set up a CSR1000v to work as SBC and I set up CME in the same router to register some SIP phones, instead of having PSTN. That way, the SIP phones and Teams users can call each other. As the SIP phones are for internal call only, I did not set up DiD numbers to Teams users. So, I skipped some steps of the document.

NOTE: There are some typos in some PowerShell commands in the document.

Thank you for the video,

Have you tried configuring direct routing ?

Is there any thing to consider outside the published document?

Excellent Video. I would like to ask you if the ISR 4000 (example ISR 4331) needs DSP for CUBE (CUCM - MS Teams). In other hand, i have see that ISR1000 could support CUBE? because in the datasheet do not mention it.

Great video! We've been looking at this for our org as well. Sucks that you need a phone system license for Office 365 - even when you're bringing your own phone system!

Great Video...I haven't seen another like this on how to setup DR. Is there a document that you can post on what it takes to setup Call Manager?

Great video! Do you know if audio conferencing through teams supports PSTN/Direct Routing? I'm getting different answers with my research. It almost seems like its only part of the Microsoft calling plan.

Thanks for the video - in the licensing section(4:38) you state for CSR1000v you need 1Gb throughput and 4Gb memory, I think the configuration document conflicts this and the limits you mention are an example allocation for large capacity deployments - should it be possible to evaluate with a license of no extra memory allocation and 10Mb throughput?? can you please clarify this?

Just to clear on my understanding of integrating WebEx Teams calling into Microsoft Teams. Our Company would need to configure Direct Routing and add an App from the Microsoft Store to deploy this option?

what if you gsm gateway instead of pstn? Your cucm is directly connected to the gsm gateway via sip trunk. will you connect Microsoft team directly to cucm or gsm gateway?
