As someone who worked at a local television station,
I can verify that statement is true.

One time, The station director had to report on a fire in town, but since he was also super old, he did the whole thing on a computer in like 10 minutes.
He went on Google, and found a stock image of a housefire being put out by firefighters.
The ironic part being, that the actual house burned to the ground because our fire department wasn’t called.

And another time, i was asked to go film a story at an old folks home, because they announced they were now recycling aluminum can tabs.
