Offshore Sailing With Musto clothing - Cowes Week
Показать описание
On this channel, we tend to check out phones, cars and general consumer tech, but when I had the opportunity to see the world of professional sailing at a competition level by Musto, I said yes.
Whether it's solo or team racing, sailing goes beyond just skills, resilience and the boat itself. You have to have the right clothing in order to be safe, secure and ultimately comfortable and ready for the weather conditions.
Musto provides all kind of clothing for offshore sailing to lighter pieces that can be worn onshore. Rather than going into specific products, I was shown a top of the range jacket that features a lot of the tech used. On this jacket, everything has been meticulously thought about and you will notice the attention to detail.
Reflectors are placed in strategic places for safety, in fact they even soak in light so they can stay reflective for a long time at night, the neck area is designed to prevent water from getting in if it rains whilst not making you sweaty inside, the hood is also designed to be seen at night and day, the fabric used helps regulate body temperature. Just like cars, some of the features are then trickled down to Musto's other clothing so whichever you go for, you're getting the same level of premium.
Not just taking Musto's word for it, we went offshore sailing with a professional solo sailor during the Lendy Cowes week to see what life on the boat is like. It can be isolating, you eat strange food and can get seasick but the experience is one not to be forgotten. In the boat itself, you get a computer that tells you everything you need to know from positioning, information about other boats around you and the essentials like wind speed and direction. Sleeping conditions are also very tricky so hats off to offshore sailors.
