Well, my native grandpa always said I could be anything I wanted to be except Mormon. This is some pretty damning proof.

"I'm gonna throw up...I'm gonna throw up". I felt that too! Thanks for shedding light on all these things.

As an indigenous person I always think of this when I encounter mormons in the world… I came across some weird and highly offensive Mormon art depicting lamanites once, and that’s when I dug into what Mormon beliefs even are (I was raised Roman Catholic). I was taken aback by just how blatant the white saviour complex of the Mormon church is

Once again thank you for this interview as I was raised in similar Assembly of God church. In great gratitude for the openness in conversation.
You’re doing great things!

My grandma lived on an Native American reservation because her ex-husband taught school there. She would tell me stories about two Native American kids that had blond hair and blue eyes and how they were filled with the Holy Spirit because of their lightness. Also about how Native American artwork reflected Mormon theology. People believe these kind of things to this day, that the gospel will make you lighter in complexion.

The fact that these beliefs were still a thing and taught at churches until not so long ago.

Absolutely DISGUSTING! I’m Native American, raised on The Rez, and just heard Jodie Hildebrandts father took in some of our Native children from Arizona. God help me what did those children go through. Rhetorical question! Why do our children have to keep going through things? It’s bad enough it’s happening to biological children from y’all, but when it’s Native children, anything goes I’m sure.

As a Native American myself, this makes me sick (also reminds me of S3 e3 of Reservation Dogs)

I am alarmed at how many women/ girls are assaulted by their brothers! Of course other family members, coaches teachers etc.when I told my younger brother about my older brother he said “ why didn’t you fight back ? Now my DIL has come out with the same thing abt her brother, her dad who was a bishop started to tell how in the church it’s not important.I watched my son”s very close. I’m happy all my sons are good decent guys. Two of 3 daughters were raped, but not here in the home. Both on a date. Thank You. I could not speak as a child in the 60’s I have no doubt I would have been blamed. So for all these years.. I’ve felt absolutely worthless, unimportant, & even hated. No one believed me or understands what a life time of pain & suffering. Now people talk about but not then. I love these women & my heart aches for them❤️ I lived the same! Small town, never good enough!

Wow! That's nauseating to see that. I converted to the "Church" 21 years ago..I'm bi-racial...as well as having Native American on both maternal and paternal sides...I had a "faith crisis" myself, but I tried to make excuses. Thanks to your channel, my eyes are wide open...

The fact that I was raised in this tradition' as a Black man. Finding out my maternal grandparents engaged in minstrel shows and the Indian placement program put kids with them...

I have to watch a couple of times because the idea that this is the dialogue is I want to say I must be hearing it wrong but know that that’s what the dialogue is… I’m speechless. I’m so shocked I shouldn’t be. it’s 2024. I have read the 2025 project and so I should know better but at the same time I’m in such shock actually hearing this.

Lamanites? I’ll have to look that up, never heard it before.

One question I have is where did Christian Domestic discipline come from? Was that a part of the iblp? I heard Michelle Duggar say that she had an ED and Jim Bob loved her enough to “hold her accountable, ” which is the wording that CDD uses!

I never saw those awful cartoons. We had a boy live with us through that program. It was not a great experience for anybody. I never heard anything about skin color. But then we lived in California. 🤣
