LYRICS:

Running down around the towns along the shore
When I was sixteen and on my own
No, I couldn't tell you what the hell those brakes were for
I was just trying to hear my song

Jimmy found his own sweet sound and won that free guitar
We'd all get in the van and play
Life became the paradox, the bear, the rouge et noir
And the stretch of road running to L.A.

Pages turning
Pages we were years from learning
Straight into the night our hearts were flung
Better bring your own redemption when you come
To the barricades of heaven where I'm from

All the world was shining from those hills
The stars above and the lights below
Among those there to test their fortunes and their wills
I lost track of the score long ago

Pages turning
Pages we were years from learning
Straight into the night our hearts were flung
Better bring your own redemption when you come
To the barricades of heaven where I'm from

Childhood comes for me at night
Voices of my friends
Your face bathing me in light
Hope that never ends

Pages turning
Pages torn and pages burning
Faded pages, open in the sun
Better bring your own redemption when you come
To the barricades of heaven where I'm from
Better bring your own redemption when you come
To the barricades of heaven where I'm from

Mr. Browne, I have been listening to you for 50 of my 63 years. Now, more than ever, you simply make me weep. Clearer and clearer you become. You're crystalline.
And your accompanying musicians are sublime. Thank you, artists, for giving.
Please don't stop.

I was a long haul trucker in my youth and Jackson Brown helped me rack up the lonely miles. 71 now and he still travels with me in my retirement.
What a beautiful song!

That voice never gets old. And his lyrics are pure poetry - always have been. He's one of a kind.

Jackson Browne was only 19 years old when he played at my husband's coffee house in San Diego, back in the late 60's. He got paid 10 bucks to play there. We have a great recording of it.

Another 50 year fan.
We all have aged.

I thought no one but David Lindley could make Jackson Browne's songs sound so complete, but Greg Leisz is also a Master of his craft.

That was a master class in steel guitar playing. Every note perfection and blending seamlessly with jackson's guitar . my favorite version of this song .

If you haven't heard about Erin Feinberg - Drums - she is a amazing photographer who recently wanted to learn the drums and has been taught by a host of professional drummers.

No one else can be you, is defined so well by Jackson Browne. Simple truth, sublime and profound, speaking for the soul of everyman, what we all feel sooner or later. We are so worthy and Mr. Browne shows us how. 💙 God bless you always and thank you.
