So the day has finally come and Bard's Tale Trilogy Remastered was released today. We only get the first game currently but every few months the second and third games should be released

Thanks for posting this video. I remember back in '85 playing this game till the late hours of the night. Thank you Rebecca Heineman for putting this together. Awesome! I always thought that El Cid was the bard, I guess I'm having yet another senior moment.

I played the 3rd one to death on C64 back in the day. Can't wait to play it again!

Hmmm, ... the layout is different now. Bigger 3D window, less wasted space in the text field on the bottom. Unfortunately, this also means character classes are back to abreviations. Got to check out the video options next time I play...

Hint: There are two spots on the first level of the catacombs with reliable spawns of 28 zombies and 66 skeletons respectively that are very useful for grinding and leveling: they give you plenty of XP (and gold) and can usually be wiped out with a single Dragon Breath or use of a Fire / Frost Horn. I used these spots back in '87, and I am using them now. Works from as soon as you find your first fire horn (I went in straight at level 2 and yes, my characters died *a lot, * but it's just a short nip to the basement - no long running required, _AND_ the hospital, sorry _temple, _ is right at the dungeon entrance) up to about level 12 before it becomes in efficient.
Granted, the entrance is "password protected", but who doesn't remember the name of the Mad God, right?

Thanks hoping for more videos! Played all versions of this game. This version is stunning. The wait is over! So fun to finally get it. Love the map, graphics are wonderful and really like that u can make female charaters and can save a lot. Was very worried these would never make it. Only took 33 years!!

Thanks for the video! Yeah, mage flame is torch, arc fire is the dmg one :) There is a very nice mapping feature in the "J" for journal...and the mini map is fade-able. Regardless, this was a childhood favorite of mine and am enjoying it immensely!

Thank you for showing the game! I spent many hours on the trilogy as well. I only beat the second. Lost the first one when my Commodore 1541 died while I was in Manger's tower.
By the way, mage flame is solely a light spell, I do not think that it has any value in combat unless I was not aware of it.

I am looking forward to get it as well.

Does anyone know what the difference is between The Bard's Tale and TBT Trilogy? And do they tell the same story or not? I am eager to buy one of them from Steam so I wonder about their stories.

Mage Flame is just a light spell. You should have been casting Arc Fire in order to do damage.
