The Lebanese case is still puzzling you? We Lebanese are still puzzled too.
There were some days where the currency lost 10-20% of its value (DAILY) to the point where it made sense to fill your car tank in the morning rather than in the evening because the gas will be more expensive by the evening. It's crazy. You feel the local currency is like trash. When in the supermarket, I saw people refusing a 100K LBP change and requesting 1USD change instead. You imagine the lack of trust reached a point where people refuse to hold 1USD worth of local currency to avoid loss. Indeed some days it was truly painful to the point you lose your daily hard work earnings just due to the speculative move of the exchange rates.

From what I saw it has been "stable" somewhat the last weeks. Hovering around the 94k to the dollar. Hopefully only up from here.

In Argentina there are elections this year, and there is a candidate that could win and one of his proposals is to eliminate the Argentine peso and dollarize the economy

As Lebanese I can confirm this and 1000 Lebanese lira was equal to one dollar, inflation now is very high. And everything is getting more expensive

It's better to use a currency that is guaranteed by gold, because the dollar is very evil

I wish Canada would switch to the USD. Our currency has devalued by 35% against the USD. Everything is more expensive compared to the early 2010’s

As a labanese, I see a 100 lira on the floor sometimes but don’t even pick it up because I can’t even buy a gum with it 😂

America Privilege is the American Dollar. We only place the value in the power of the thing as equalled by how much we desire it for ourselves.

why don't they keep the prices in US dollars but tell their customers they must pay in lira? And have the conversion rate at the entrance or throughout the store?

LOL. BRICS is meeting today 8/22/23. The US dollar is about to get creamed. Our new USN currency hopefully will be out this year.
