Once you’ve learned how to play all the major and minor guitar chords in a key, as well as all the 7th chords in a key, you’re ready to dive into the world of 9th chords on guitar. These chords have a particularly jazzy flavor, and work exceptionally well in genres like neo-soul, jazz, blues, R&B, and pop. So what I’ll be showing you in this video, is how to play every diatonic 9th chord within a key. This will give you some more interesting colors to work with when creating chord progressions using the Chord Roadmaps.

If you have any questions, please be sure to leave them in the comments below. Thanks for watching!

Bro, you’re one of the few random YouTube recs that actually hit the mark. I love your vids and think you’re an excellent teacher. Keep it up!

Trust me I’ve seen so many guitar videos and explore so many channels, and I can say without hesitation that you are definitely one of the best teachers out there. And also you address content that other teachers seem to just consider as evident
Thanks for the great content

In every lesson you deliver what you promise in the title making sure the basic theory is always covered to make sense of every shape

I wish I knew this when I first started playing. You break things down so simply. Great work.😊

Hi Andrew, I've learnt heaps from your videos. I might be wrong, or it may be an oversight on my behalf, but have you had a video which covered inverted chords in depth? You are a champ & love your work bro👍

Hey Andrew,
Thanks again for the amazing lesson. I had one question regarding the "cheatsheet" in the recap. If I am understanding correctly you can mix and match between those roadmaps, is that correct?

For example: 1-4-5 is Maj, Maj, Maj. Again the question is can you substitute the Dom 7 or 9 chord in place of the fifth position major?

Thanks in advance!

Great lesson as always. Could you tell what pick size do you use? Thanks.

Are you able to do a video of using the road maps and major scale segment on a more rock-directed video? I am grasping it for more slower/acoustic songs but really trying to use your method for a song from like Bayside or something I'm struggling with. Also any chances of a video on how to take a song thats in D standard and play it in E standard for example?

Can you kindly point me towards the video to those chord roadmaps he mentioned at the beginning?

Hi Great job but when u editorialize at 8:03 " Its pretty I disagree this shape helps me understand carribean music and maybe even Zook because Grace Evera's guitarist use that shape, its mellow sounding which works well in his song structure.

Andrew you are a master of your business. However, the introduction in any video that I have ever watched on your channel is way too unnecessary. This is the reason I personally skip your videos although I know there's cream in there.

See take it as a critique, I by no way intend to demean your efforts. You're a master of your business but the fast paced talking and no practical demonstration tend to shoo away people like me.

8 minutes in before you even start to show us the 9th Chord Shapes the Damn Video is SUPPOSED to be about!! 🤯

Could have covered that in 30s and referred people to earlier Videos!

Life's too Short and won't waste my time with this Channel again.
