When I was younger, I never really understood the full extent of Tai Lung's reasoning for betraying his master.
It wasn't until I got older that I realized just how much Sifu betrayed him first.

I remember a specific scene from the movie Jarhead, where the main character and his partner are on a mission as snipers, something they've trained months for, only for their moment (a kill on an enemy officer) to get robbed from them. It sent them into a mental breakdown.

Imagine that, but at the level of Tai Lung? Where the dude trained, not for months, but LITERALLY his ENTIRE LIFE for such a moment. A moment where his mentor and father made him promises from a infancy of his so-called Destiny. A promise that Tai Lung spent, bled, and paid his entire life to make true. Only for that exact moment of "truth" to come, and his Master literally turns his back on Tai Lung when his perceived Destiny is passed over him.

Decades of sweat, blood, pain, effort, and most valueble: time, all immediately robbed from him. The second his master and father-figure did nothing.. said nothing to make good on the promise he filled Tai Lung with for his entire life.

Tai Lung lashes out, naturally. Hurting people in the process. And as punishment for his crimes, he's subjugated to isolation forever. Trapped in a dark hole, boulders chained to his arms. Unable to move. Not even given the right to breathe properly, because of how scared the valley was of him.
Because of how hard he trained, and how powerful he became in the path to fulfill his Destiny.

Po was chosen, but Tai Lung earned it.

To be honest, he was unstoppable. He beat everyone, even Po. If the goal was keeping the scroll away from Tai-Lung, Po lost. It was only when Tai-Lung opened the scroll was he defeated. He was defeated in success and it was after he read it, disappointed in the discovery of the scroll's meaning, that Po beat him in combat. He didn't have anything driving him anymore.

Tai Lung literally ANNIHILATED Shifu. Bro really threw him into the sky only to slam him down. Po would have easily lost if he wasn't the main character. And honestly Tai Lung's hate is fair. He was convinced his whole life that he was going to be someone special. Only to find out that he had been lied to for probably 2 decades or a bit less. Tai Lung is the most badass villain, change my mind.
