I hear this all the time about music being "stolen", so I thought I'd set the record straight. Excuse the pun.

Cultural appropriation as a general idea is bullshit, I think. Seriously, it's called "cultural exchange", and it's been happening... forever. It's the most healthy thing we can do to bridge any gap between cultures. Not only that, but when ideas from one culture spread through others and at some point come back home, the results can be brilliant. Music is probably one of the best examples, because you don't need to translate it or anything, you can just communicate it immediately and adapt it any way you like. But that's pretty much true for everything, depending on the effort of translation, it might just take a while longer.
