Hailed as the greatest music video of all time by MTV, VH1, Rolling Stone and others, "Thriller," directed by John Landis, is also the only music video selected to be included in the Library of Congress' prestigious National Film Registry.

What I always appreciated about the Thriller Music Video as a film nerd was that it captured many different aesthetics very well in such a small amount of time, the Gothic shots of the graveyard remind me of old universal monster movies like Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon, the street scenes remind me of the the shots you see in 80’s movies like Karate Kid and Jason takes Manhattan, and what makes it all worth it is that it’s actually scary when it needs to be scary, well acted, well sung, and most of all…capped off with the perfect scare, I’m so happy I got to see it remastered in true 4K, the colors really pop with it.
